Christmas Concert 2023
'The Magic of Christmas' was the title of our Christmas concert and it certainly lived up to its billing. An enthusiastic audience were entertained by a variety of new arrangements and traditional favourites, with plenty of opportunities for audience participation.
This concert also showcased the brass section, with a crowd pleasing arrangement of Jingle Bells, and our LCCB singers, with three Christmas pieces, including Gaudete and A "Holiday Road" of Carols.

Summer Concert 2023
Our summer concert 'Saturday Night at the Movies' took place on a very warm Saturday evening in June at Judgemeadow Community College. It included arrangements from many popular films and film franchises, including Harry Potter, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean and Chicken Run (it was worth attending just to hear the kazoo playing). The entertainment also featured outstanding performances by the clarinet section and the LCCB singers.
This concert was also the debut appearance of our new LCCB backdrop, which really sets the stage for our performances.

Women's World Gliding Championships 2022 (WWGC 2022)
We were delighted to receive an invitation to play at the Open Day of the Women's World Gliding Championships, taking place at the Husbands Bosworth Gliding Centre, on Saturday 20th August 2022. The event (gliding's equivalent of the Olympics) featured competitors from around 12 different countries and it was fascinating to see so many gliders circling in the sky above us. The band had a great day out entertaining the crowds and we managed to dodge the rain too. A fantastic day all round.

Christmas Concert 2019
Our 2019 Christmas concert ‘Celebrate the Season with Leicester Community Concert Band’ was the first one held at The Covenant Life Church and organised in association with them. There was no doubting the Christmas feel to the concert, with the band playing a range of Christmas favourites, including It's Christmas, Sleigh Ride, A Most Wonderful Christmas and A Christmas Festival. The audience also enjoyed some less well-known pieces, including Minor Alterations, Fairy Doll and Christmas in the Nursery, and played their part singing a variety of Christmas carols. As a result of the concert LCCB raised £700 for the charity ‘Live Life Give Life’, in memory of Don Blakeson, and £700 for the charity ‘Rainbow Trust Africa’ which is supported by the church.

Joint concert with the Band of the Grenadier Guards
Following a highly successful event in 2018, Leicester Community Concert Band once again acted as hosts to the Band of the Grenadier Guards, in a joint charity concert held at Wigston College in June 2019. The Grenadier Guards had only just completed a hectic schedule of ceremonial duties, which included the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landings, as well as their traditional Royal duties at Trooping the Colour.
On arrival at the college the Grenadier Guards conducted a workshop with a group of young musicians from local schools. Director of Music, Major Michael Smith gave them an insight into the professional world of the Band of the Grenadier Guards, and following a brief rehearsal, the youngsters were able to perform a short concert.
The evening charity concert featured performances by the Band of the Grenadier Guards, Leicester Community Concert Band and the combined bands, forming an ensemble of more than 100 musicians.
